Our Summer issue is possibly the most beautiful and potentially troubling that we have ever produced. We follow Hellfire missiles from the shop floor to Iraqi villages in Lisa Barnard’s Whiplash Transitions; explore the metaphysical side of space travel with Edgar Martins in The Rehearsal of Space; look at the Congo through Richard Mosse’s hallucinogenic lens in The Enclave; narrow the fault line of commercial and contemporary photography in Roe Ethridge’s Sacrifice Your Body; try to find the logic in Hannah Witaker’s Cold Wave and grope for meaning in the darkness with Bill Henson in A Dark Adaptation.

We also journey into the Californian desert with Mona Kuhn, whose series Private is accompanied by a short story from Amanda Schiff; talk to Pedro Alfacinha on the dawn of his new gallery's opening, explore President Putin's flirtations with propaganda in The Man of Silver Nitrate, as well as review the Leica T and Roger Ballen's Asylum of the Birds.
